Food and Dining

Sacandaga Bible Conference’s food is generous, familiar and fun, whether freshly made pizza for summer campers, carved prime rib at a Saturday night smorgasbord or a barbecue at the beach. It’s also responsible, with produce from local farms served in season and guests with dietary needs receiving special attention.

SUMMER SEASON

Three buffet meals a day are served at the Hilltop Dining Hall. Breakfast may include whole grain chocolate chip pancakes with homemade sausage, western eggs or a do-it-yourself oatmeal bar with fresh fruit. Lunches may feature Utica-style chicken riggies or taco salads. Dinnertime may bring meatloaf, chicken potpie or Japanese stir-fried noodles.

A smorgasbord is offered at 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. Saturdays, before the free concert. Attend at any time during the open hours for your delicious meal, reservations not needed for less than 8 people in the group. Sundays are special, with Sac Sunday Dinner, a classic after-church buffet until to 12:45 p.m. offered during Family Camp.

The Snack Barn offers cinnamon buns and coffee after chapel and serves a light lunch and dinner. It also sells Hershey’s ice cream, Coca-Cola, and other drinks, candy, chips and hot snacks. Cold drink machines are available at Arthur Johnston Lodge and the Ray Mills Youth Center.

The dining hall and Snack Barn are nut-free in the summer.

ALL YEAR LONG

For retreat guests, Sac offers full buffet meals tailored around their schedule. Snacks and beverage service throughout the day are available for an additional charge. Cold drink machines are available at Arthur Johnston Lodge and the Ray Mills Youth Center.

Great food plays a part in several Sac-sponsored events. A game dinner is served to guests of Sacandaga Sportsmen’s Day in January. A romantic dinner with musical entertainment is offered around Valentine’s Day. The annual fall festival includes homemade chili and sausage and peppers. The year ends with holiday-themed dinner and Christmas cantata.
